The Winter Carnivale 2006 returns this Saturday, February 25th at the Fargo Theater. $7 cover for all-ages with a bar for 21+ starting at 8 pm provided by the good folks at Dempsey's (opening soon). It all gets started at 2 pm and the music lasts until just after 12 AM when the Midnight Movie starts. You can leave and come back as you wish. Matt from Punchgut Studios will be hawking some super rad rock posters. Various art by local artists will be projected onto the walls. You can find out all the latest info about upcoming Fargo shows. Films from local filmmakers will be shown in between bands. Headlining the shindig are former Fargo boys, the Deaths, right ahead of their appearance at the SXSW festival. It will be their first all-ages show in Fargo in a couple years. I can't think of a better venue to see their psychadelic pop. Icollide, unfortunately had to bow out at the last minute due to a family emergency. The Nina, the Pinta! (formerly We Kidnap Frisone) has graciously agreed to fill in and if you are a fan of Icollide, you will dig on them, they are also from Minneapolis. The originators of the Winter Carnivale, Mike Daggon and Amber Fletchock, now Wisconsin residents return to perform with their band Dorothy Fix. A ton of your favorite locals are playing including Battle At Sea, Les Dirty Frenchmen, The New Instructions, Cut and Run (expect some suprises from their set, they won't tell me what!), Strong Like Bear, The Throbbing Hot Rods, Guitarmeggedon, The Blue Fairy Godmothers, Sleeping in Gethsemane, Me and You Crew, Kimmy Gibbler and the Chris Hanson Group. Also DJ's, comedy from Adam Hagen, performance art from Amber Parsons, a drag show, improv from Nine and Numb, all in all over 20 performances + extras for $7. It should be fun kids, we'll see you there. Schedule is below
